Jade Vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys)

A native of the tropical forests of the Philippines. Its flowers are the color of jade, and hang in bunches up to 90 cm long; each clawlike flower is about 7½ cm long. the jade vine's flowers are pollinated by bats.

Jade vine is prized in tropical and subtropical gardens for its showy flowers which are a highly unusual blue-green. It is usually grown over a pergola so that the flowers may hang down below where they can be seen easily. In South Africa the jade vine is mainly restricted to the warm humid strip of coastal Natal but grows in a few frost-free spots inland.  *

The jade vine  is among the most beautiful and unusual of tropical vine flowers. Native to the Philippines, this perennial evergreen plant sports highly unusual flowers that can be almost turquoise in color, and which are sometimes used in attractive leis. The blossoms are two inches long with long pointed upturned keels, which hang in small clusters from the main stalk.

These are larger plants between 4-6 feet and air layered from a 4 year old plant, they should flower very quickly, they are already branching out.
